The main body of this flute is made from Fiddleback Blackwood, the mouthpiece and end cap are Brown Mallee Burl and it features accents of Black Walnut, Huon Pine and crushed Turquoise stone.
The term fiddleback denotes a tight, wavy grain pattern that reflects light in a 3D, holographic tiger stripe that constantly changes as your viewing angle shifts. Finding Blackwood with this figure is exceptionally rare and this flute has lots of it. Caused by genetic and environmental anomalies, it can’t be seen until the timber is milled. Imagine the look on the sawmill worker’s face when this was cut!
