Hello
First of all, thank you for visiting my website.
In December, 2018 I held and played a Native American style flute for the first time and instantly felt drawn to learning how to make these instruments.
In March, 2019 I randomly met an instrument maker offering free flute making classes in Rishikesh, India and, after seeing how into it I was, he was patient enough to teach me the fundamentals in flute making. I learned to make Quena and Bansuri using bamboo. This foundational knowledge lead me on a journey of experimenting with Native American style flutes. Infinitely more complex in design than many other flutes, they satisfy my inner engineer - striving to find the voice I wanted in my flutes.
After several years of experimenting and practising, I was able to consistently make great sounding flutes, almost chromatic in tuning and very beautiful to the eye.
I feel blessed to live in Australia and have access to her native woods. There is a vast array of beautiful native woods here, each one unique in colour and grain.
Beginning with a slab of wood. Removing material. Revealing the flute resting within. Hearing it's voice.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if for a custom order or any questions.
Adrian.
I would love to hear from you
